Personal Description:
Hello,
I'm a qualified teacher specialising in music, with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education and 17 years of teaching experience. My teaching style is friendly and relaxed, but well-planned and catered to your specific needs.
I am currently working as a peripatetic (roaming) teacher for a music hub where I teach violin, bassoon, music theory and conduct several ensembles. My day job requires me to teach pupils aged 5-18 in 1:1, small group and whole-class settings. During Covid lockdowns I gained lots of experience of teaching lessons online.
I did my teacher training in secondary music. After qualifying I worked for several years as a classroom teacher at a special school in Birmingham teaching music and music technology.
I have a master's degree in electronic music composition from Birmingham University, and a degree in music from the University of York. As well as teaching, I also work as a freelance bassoonist.
