Personal Description:
I am a self-employed music teacher who works in and around the north-east of England where I specialise in teaching piano, guitar, and music theory.
Tutoring Experience:
Over the past 12 years I have worked in numerous schools across the north-east of England. Currently I work alongside two music companies delivering music workshops in primary and secondary schools, and as of the 2024-2025 school calendar, I deliver lessons to over 13 schools on a weekly basis.
My main passion is delivering instrumental tuition on a number of instruments which include; electric guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboard, piano, ukulele, and music theory. Outside of the school day I have a wealth of private students whom I visit on a weekly basis to deliver hourly or half-hourly lessons. The majority of these students are between the ages of 5-18 however I do have a number of adult students who I personally love to see get involved in music. Age should never be a deterrent to learning an instrument.
Tutoring Approach:
Music should always be fun and rewarding. My lessons usually involve learning music techniques through practical exercises such as a student's favourite song, therefore making each lesson as engaging as possible.
Rather than teaching one method for all students, I work on a case-by-case approach where I prepare individual lesson plans for each student as we all learn in different ways.
