Information About Benjamin - Glasgow teacher

Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Ben and I am a trumpeter living in Glasgow.

I have played the trumpet and the piano since I was 8-years-old and I have performed in a number of different bands (jazz/pop/gypsy folk etc) in various venues around the city for the past 4 years. I am grade 8 standard in both instruments.

I recently graduated from the University of Glasgow with a degree in undergraduate History and whilst I enjoyed academic study, I am now pursuing a career in music, doing production, performance and composing for film and radio.

In my spare time, I love cooking, reading and swimming.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught one student trumpet, who started at total beginners level and two months later, was playing her favourite songs from the radio which I transcribed and taught to her!

Tutoring Approach:

I am a people person, so I place great importance on getting to know my students: understanding what they hope to get out of their lessons, catering my teaching to their specific interest within music (be it pop/jazz/classical/folk etc), and taking things at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

I have spent many years learning, unlearning, relearning and perfecting my trumpet technique so I have a good understanding of what works and what doesn't!
