Personal Description:
Singing and music are two of my greatest passions.
I've been teaching music full time in Bristol since 2004, after starting career at the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts at the Tobacco Factory.
Over the years, I have performed in a range of original and cover bands and recorded many hours of material for myself, co-writers and clients coming to my studio, whilst teaching others of all ages to achieve great things with their music.
I'm known for being able to play and teach a wide range of instruments, but my main three are the voice, piano and guitar. Other instruments include the cello, accordion, bass, double bass, mandolin and ukelele.
I offer one-to-one lessons **Removed By Admin** from my studio in Stokes Croft, Bristol and I teach all types, whether you're starting for scratch, want to get back into your music or you are a professional musician.
I am always actively songwriting and performing on various collaborations and solo projects.
My studio is a 18 track recording studio with live room and control room and I can teach music technology or record and produce your band or solo track, with optional accompaniment from me on piano or guitar.
Tutoring Experience:
I started teaching casually in 2003, started professionally in 2005 and set up my own business offering lessons in 2007.
I am a graduate of the Complete Vocal Institute, in Copenhagen. Which refined and developed my professionalism in teaching and delivering the right information in as short a time as possible. I use a lot of communication skills, learning types, a positive philosophy and NLP in my lessons in order to whittle everything down to the most important thing that I feel you need to work on. This means I can solve some singers issues in as little as 10 minutes.
Being a singing teacher from CVI gives me the latest research of the singing voice which helps many singers, beginners and advanced, gain the correct technique for them.
Tutoring Approach:
All lessons are orientated towards your specific goals, style and ability.
Singing lessons focus on technique, interpretation and music and we apply what you learn directly to songs of your choice. A training CD is available for extra exercises.
I am an authorised CVT teacher, which means I have a wealth of the latest research available to you, in order to train and produce any vocal sound in a healthy way.
Guitar and piano lessons teach you the music theory behind the songs, so you know how to apply it to any song. We work by training your ear to pick up the details quickly.
Songwriting lessons cover all fundamentals of creative lyric writing and apply it to the music theory you would learn with the guitar or piano lessons above.
