Personal Description:

I live in Wells, Somerset.
I am a very enthusiastic and nurturing teacher who prides myself on building strong relationships with all my students, (references available).
I am a keen performer, having played the flute in many groups and ensembles. I have sung in many choirs over the years.
I am a mother of 3 children and most recently, a grandmother!

Tutoring Experience:

I am a flute, recorder and piano teacher with over 20 years teaching experience.

I have lots of experience with primary school children, teenagers and adults from beginners to more advanced players and have prepared many of my students for ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall exams up to grade VIII.

I have taught children with special needs such as dyslexia or other learning difficulties and am therefore very experienced in tailoring each lesson to suit the individual needs of the student.

I have experience teaching students both individually or in small groups.

I teach at home and in schools. I also teach via SKYPE and Zoom.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a relaxed and fun approach to teaching whilst maintaining high standards. I incorporate theory and aural within my lessons as I strongly believe these support and encourage playing and understanding. I also run various informal and fun concerts, which are a fantastic opportunity for students to perform, (quite a daunting prospect for some), in a relaxed setting; and competitions which serve as a fun and encouraging incentive to learning.
