Personal Description:
**ONLINE TUITION AVAILABLE** I am a Music Professional and Classical Record Producer. I live in the country with my husband and three children, and when not undertaking production or post-production work, I spend much of my time playing the piano and oboe! I enjoy accompanying and coaching as well as private teaching (piano, oboe and theory), and often take part in local orchestras.
Tutoring Experience:
Originally, my instrumental tuition experience was gained through teaching my three children, all of whom subsequently went on to attend the Royal College of Music, Junior Department. I now teach piano and oboe privately, and often coach and accompany for ABRSM or Trinity exams. I have taught groups of undergraduates and postgraduates at the Royal College of Music (in record production-related subjects). Lastly, I teach Music Theory up to Grade 5.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe very strongly in the benefits of learning music: it can make you happier, cleverer and more confident! The best way to teach is to encourage and praise, so that the performer can be allowed to express themselves through their music without inhibitions. A good teacher will balance technical instruction with musical interpretation, and will treat each pupil as an individual, choosing repertoire that he or she will enjoy, and which will challenge by just the right amount.

She is never anything less than positive and encouraging but with a keen instinct for when to challenge and stretch. She clearly has deep knowledge of the piano and music as a whole so can always provide more context and meaning to my learning.
On top of all this, the setting for lessons is fantastic with a beautiful instrument and calm environment meaning nothing is in the way of effective learning.
Thanks so much for your positive feedback! I'm so glad your daughter is enjoying her lessons.
Best wishes
