Personal Description:
I teach piano and keyboard, aural tests and theory, in the west of Edinburgh to all ages and stages. Beginners particularly welcome. Friendly home setting. Qualifications: M.Phil; BA (Humanities with Music)(First Class Honours), LLB (Hons), DipABRSM(Teaching), DipABRSM(Performance), ATCL.
Tutoring Experience:
Many years experience of teaching as well as having brought up a family of my own (now aged 16 and 20) so very sympathetic to attention spans of little ones and competing demands on busy teens!
Tutoring Approach:
Emphasis on enjoying playing as a lifelong skill; LCM practical grades and ABRSM theory taught; equally open to leisure play, or a mixture of both; all ages and stages welcome including adult beginners or returners. Variety of styles including classical, pop, jazz, duets, Scottish, ensemble.
