Personal Description:
Angus is a multi-faceted musician with experience within the domains of performance, composition, and music technology. During his postgraduate degree at Guildhall, he has engaged with a variety of work, from developing his own game with an interactive soundtrack, to conducting the Guildhall Session orchestra on four occasions for composition projects. He has collaborated with renowned ensembles to compose new music, and in 2022 was selected for Britten Sinfonia's Opus 1 scheme, a selective program for aspiring composers.
Tutoring Experience:
Angus has extensive teaching experience in different areas. In 2018 he acted as the judge for Tarporley High School's music competition, providing feedback for 40 students from years 7 to 13. In 2019, Angus completed the pedagogy module at Cheshire College during which he visited St. Mary's primary to teach one to one lessons. He has provided private piano, music theory, composition and music production lessons for a broad age range.
Tutoring Approach:
Fostering enthusiasm is key to Angus's approach. With his extensive breadth of knowledge surrounding music he tailors lessons to ensure they are both enjoyable and enriching.
