Personal Description:
After completing a BMus Jazz Performance degree (with 1st class honours) at the University of Chichester, followed by an MMus Master of Music (Performance) at The University of Southampton, Andrew has found himself in demand as both a local player and teacher.
Passionate about the saxophone he finds time to both teach privately and gig with The Boogie Bumpers, Red Fez Orchestra, Forza Saxophone Quartet and Grand Central Trio.
Andrew also runs JazzSmart which hosts workshops with world class tutors such as Mike Hall (RNCM), Andy Scott, Derek Nash (Jools Holland), Simon Willescroft (Duran Duran) and Krzystof Urbanski. He also runs jazz workshops at the University of Chichester under the name Chichester Jazz Academy.
Andrew is currently studying a Masters in Music Performance at the University of Southampton.
Tutoring Experience:
Lots of experience teaching all ages in both individual and group settings. Andrew likes to work with students of all ages and is sensitive to the needs of all, especially those who might just be starting out on the saxophone. Purpose built fully equipped music studio. Can also teach music theory both classical and jazz!
Tutoring Approach:
I provide affordable saxophone lessons and tuition on a one-to-one basis so that I can focus solely on helping you improve your saxophone skills and become more confident in your abilities. I offer a wide variety of subjects to improve your saxophone skills. Available to teach to all ages, and am fully DBS/CRB checked. Beginners very welcome, so if you are feeling nervous or unsure about playing the saxophone, now is the time to learn! A bespoke lesson plan will be designed around you, the individual. Fully insured for public liability with the Musicians Union (MU).
