Personal Description:

I have been tutoring people of all ages from different backgrounds for the past 10 years or more. I used to run band sessions for a music charity and have taught singing at schools, youth clubs in addition to facilitating music sessions within care homes and performing in various different venues around the UK as a singer-songwriter and performing covers in bands, duos and as a solo artist. I write songs and have had my music used on TV Series ‘Hollyoaks’ in addition to having it published by a few publishing companies. I am keen to help others to navigate through their musical career and assist with teaching vocals, piano, flute and composition. I have a degree in music through The University of Sussex and Brighton Institute of Modern Music.

My grades:

Singing: 2:1 degree in Professional Musicianship specialising in vocals and Grade 4 ABRSM
Piano: I have a Grade 5 in Piano through ABRSM.
Currently studying grade 6 Piano with Trinity Rock and Pop
Flute: Grade 6 ABRSM to be taken this year

Tutoring Experience:

Singing - 10 years or more, various different ages groups.

Piano - I teach piano to beginner students and those wanting to accompany themselves whilst writing songs. I have had 10 or more years of experience.

Flute - I teach beginners lessons in the flute

I can also teach GCSE Music to students who are studying for the exam

Tutoring Approach:

Some learners may find it beneficial to have a more structured approach for example taking grades, whilst other learners may appreciate a more flexible approach designed around what they would like to achieve for example if they are currently in a band or want to learn for fun. For younger students, I teach using various different games, the basics of composition and use music apps to help assist with learning in a fun way. Lessons are tailored to the student and what they would like to gain.
