Information About Alex - Wirral teacher

Personal Description:

A member of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra since 2007, I have performed professionally as a soloist and with chamber groups throughout the UK, and with orchestras around the world. I have a worked as a session musician, a concerto soloist, a guest principal with orchestras, a workshop leader for the Liverpool Phil in Early Years provision and also run a music festival.

Tutoring Experience:

Having taught privately for over 20 years, I happily teach all levels and all ages: from inspiring young beginner cellists and helping adult players rediscover their love for the instrument, to successfully preparing music students for their auditions to music college and having a career of their own. I teach from home and also at Liverpool University.

Tutoring Approach:

Like anything, playing the cello is most enjoyable when you are free to express yourself! While you can't escape the technical challenges of a string instrument such as the cello (and the need for regular practice… ), learning it has to be fun, relaxing and inspiring. As a teacher I am always looking for that balance, as without it you just can't get the best out of your inner musician or your cello.
