Personal Description:
I have ten years of experience teaching and tutoring music students. I am a teacher of academic music and musicianship at the Purcell School, where I teach harmony, analysis, history, theory and aural skills. I was educated in one of the top schools in continental Europe, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where I obtained bachelor's and master's degrees on music theory. I undertook several teaching internships there in different subjects (theory and ear training, harmony, and analysis), and I have helped many students to take the theory and ear training exams of the conservatoire. I was employed at the school as a harmony and analysis teacher for a year, and I also taught composition workshops. I was also a PGR teaching assistant at the University of Southampton, where I taught seminars and lectures on Fundamentals of Composition, and Fundamentals of Harmony, Analysis and Counterpoint.
I offer lessons in music theory, keyboard skills (figured bass, harmony at the piano, improvisation), aural skills, composition, analysis, arranging and orchestration, and piano. I have also completed several compositions, some of which are available online.
I can certainly prepare students to take graded exams in all levels of theory, musicianship, or piano. I can teach online and in person around North London.
