Personal Description:
Having completed both a BMus and MA in Music at Bangor University I currently work as a supply teacher at schools in Bangor and the surrounding area alongside tuition. I studied composition with Peter Flinn, Bill Connor and Guto Puw and Celtic Music with Stephen Rees. I have experience in teaching and tutoring Piano, Keyboard, Music Theory and Composition and also have experience of Primary and KS3 National Curriculum, GCSE and A'Level courses and requirements, as well as good knowledge of requirements for undergraduate courses. I prefer to teach at the home of the student, on the particular instrument the student will be practicing on, however I would welcome adult learners at my own home. I am happy to travel outside Bangor as long as travel expenses are covered. Fees: £10: 30 mins, £15: 45 mins, £20: 1 hour.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe music is a subject to be enjoyed and therefore any lessons I teach should be as enjoyable as possible for the students. I like my students to learn at their own preferred pace, some like to play just for fun or casually, others enjoy working to a goal, usually in the form of ABRSM exams and I try to teach to each individuals specific needs. The students will be playing/learning what they enjoy so the work becomes more of a hobby. Whist teaching instrumental lessons I also feel learning the musical theory to be important, as understanding how the music itself is put together, and therefore how best to interpret the music, can only help a performer.
Composition is my own speciality and I would be honored to be able to share my passion an knowledge with other budding composers.
