Personal Description:
I am a musician, producer, and studio engineer in Manchester, who has extensive experience in education through all levels between primary and university. I hold a first class BA honours degree that included 92% in solo guitar. I currently own and run a commercial recording studio from which music and production lessons can be held.
I am an incredibly hard-working individual and have exceeded in everything I have done. I hope I am able to make a positive contribution towards your musical knowledge and skill.
Tutoring Experience:
I have a wide range of experience in teaching music through the practical, theoretical, and technical mediums; I taught guitar privately for about six years part-time before going peripatetic in primary and secondary schools for the Oldham Music Service.
My most recent position at Blackpool and the Fylde College involved teaching units in performance, live sound, sequencing, moving image, and listening skills. My experience in teaching is broad which has allowed me to be responsive and adaptive to the needs of my learners be they at beginner or advanced levels.
I am familiar with safeguarding principles and I am passionate about equality and diversity in the learning environment. I take care with every student relationship to reinforce the best learning conditions.
Tutoring Approach:
When it comes to teaching I have no genre bias, my aim is to teach the skills every guitarist should have and equip them with the theoretical knowledge to support it. I also have the capacity to teach a set syllabus and motivate students to reach their goals. I also adapt to students who do not favour academic syllabuses by coaching them to create their own goals driven by autonomous learning.
My approach to teaching theory is less flexible as it is by definition an academic study. This area of music can be very frustrating for students to understand but I apply a soft pressure approach. Often paying just as much attention to the relationship between myself and my student as it can be an underlying factor in the motivation and success of a students overall progression.
Music technology is just as embedded in art as the music itself. I enjoy shining light on the artistic side of this practice as it can yield very satisfying results, however I emphasise the importance of understanding how to produce industry standard work and the practice of common professional techniques.

I have a lot of fun on my lessons and look forward to it each week!
Also very nice and cultural person. Lessons are conducted in a home-studio, which is a perfect envinronment to learn.
