Personal Description:

I am kind and patient and greet my pupils with a smile and enthusiasm. I have been playing the violin since I was 7 and the piano since I was 10. I have enjoyed playing in many youth orchestras before studying music at degree level. I then went on to study teaching music at secondary school level.

Tutoring Experience:

I qualified and began my career as a secondary music teacher in 1996 and have 17 years of music teaching experience in many different settings. I worked for two of those years as a peripatetic teacher for Southend music services, taught violin and piano, ran the local music school and led Southend's steel band. I have also taught in primary and special schools as a SENCO and as the music co-ordinator. I am well experienced in working with children and adults with additional learning needs. My pupils invariably gain self confidence in addition to their musical knowledge and instrumental skills.

I am kind and patient and greet my pupils with a smile and enthusiasm. I am passionate about music and enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with those that I teach. I aim to make my lessons fun and relevant to the individual.
