Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher of French and Spanish. I am married with 3 children, dogs, cats and a handful of chickens. I think the ability to speak another language can open up a whole world of new experiences. Language learning should be a pleasure, not a chore.
Teaching Experience:
I have over 25 years of varied teaching experience. I have worked in several secondary schools teaching both French and Spanish at KS3 and KS4. I have also tutored both French and Spanish students at A level and many adults in commercial settings. I have taught French in primary schools on a voluntary basis and as part of a high school partnership.
Teaching Approach:
Giving students confidence in themselves, regardless of their ability, is of the utmost importance to me. Being a good teacher is not about showing what I can do, it is about helping a student to achieve their full potential. Together we identify what a student needs to know, and what they are possibly struggling with. I recognise the need to explain things, sometimes in a variety of ways, until the students understands, without harming their self-confidence.

YvetteFrom Stacey (5/5): I’m really enjoying my sessions with Yvette. She has a lovely home environment where I feel really comfortable. Yvette explains everything and gives background to how words are written or how they’re pronounced, so it really helps me to understand. Yvette goes at my pace and makes each session productive and enjoyable.

From Louise (/5): Yvette is a great Spanish tutor! The worksheets she provides are accessible and clear, and she really packs every minute of the lesson with learning, which is great. Yvette also gives plenty of tips on pronunciation and Spanish/Latin American culture. I highly recommend Yvette.
