Personal Description:

I am a qualified and experienced languages teacher, offering French and German tuition up to A level. Having spent 10 years in the classroom, I have been tutoring languages and woodwind instruments for a further 10 years. As part of my degree, I spent a year as a language assistant in France and also went to Austria to be an au-pair for an extended summer, so I speak both French and German fluently.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught all ages, from primary school up to adults. I have taught at state schools, private schools, evening classes and at home. I have plenty of experience in supporting students to achieve high GCSE grades, including with the new GCSE syllabus and have helped many students with A level too, both in the classroom and one-to-one. In addition, I have taught adult beginners and adults wishing to learn for business purposes.

Teaching Approach:

Whether you want to learn for holidays, for conversation or for exams, I will prepare your lessons to cater for your needs and requirements. If you would like a solid grounding in grammar, I can help. Equally, if you would like conversational lessons or GCSE/A level lessons, I can help there too. I teach all four areas of language learning: listening, speaking, reading and writing and use a variety of materials to support your learning. I really enjoy tutoring, as it allows students to make great progress and feel confident about speaking a foreign language.
