Personal Description:

Salut! My name is Valeriia, and it's been three years since I settled in UK. I'm Ukrainian by birth, but international at heart, my life is a constant move. Being married to a Frenchman, French is my every day language. I am passionate about languages, and I am persuaded that everyone who speaks English can easily master French as well.

Teaching Experience:

It's been four years that I work as a tutor. I work only with adults of various levels and goals. Seeing my students' progress brings me a great satisfaction and joy.
Currently I'm offering distance-teaching only.

Teaching Approach:

I tailor my classes according to the needs and interests of my student. I mix grammar work with a lot of listening (which is as crucial as being able to read), as well as supplementary tasks I create myself. I give homework and I control it after each class as I believe that self-practice is as important as the lesson with the tutor.

I love what I do and I am organised and responsible in my job. However, I prefer working with people who truly want to learn. That is why I only work with students who are over 15 years old.

From Paul (5/5): Valeriia is an excellent tutor of French - her lessons are always interesting, fluent, well-planned and entertaining. She has a good sense of humour and it is a fun hour. She is also pretty strict and has high standards and expects them of her students. She will tell you honestly what she thinks. The lessons are very intensive and you feel mentally exercised by the end! Really pleased to have found her as a tutor and look forward to her lesson each week.

She makes the lessons enjoyable and has a vast knowledge of the language. The homework she provides is interesting and useful. I feel that I have learnt a great deal from her lessons and fully recommend her to anyone!

I enjoy how she makes use of different topics and materials during our lessons, including various textbook exercises, videos, and audio files. She also provides good explanations of how french is used "in real life" which will be very useful for when I travel to France. I find that she is always very well prepared for each lesson, and in my case, she gives a homework assignment at the end of each session which helps me to improve further.
