Personal Description:

I am a professional language teacher with extensive experience teaching Japanese and English. I believe language and culture are closely intertwined, so in my classes, in addition to language you will learn relevant etymological and historical aspects surrounding it. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, I am happy to help you on your language learning journey.

Teaching Experience:

I have seven years teaching experience in both English and Japanese. I can help with exam preparation (Mainly CELTA), but also academic English. If you need help writing essays and need pointers for basic literature review and research, I can provide those things.
For the past two years, In addition to being a full-time ESL teacher, I have been the head of Japanese at International House Edinburgh, managing a team of five teachers and a fleet of classes.

Teaching Approach:

My teaching approach is the result of years of experience, working with hundreds of students. I teach languages comprehensively: I believe language and culture are closely intertwined, so in order to study any language, it is beneficial to understand aspects of culture as well. Therefore, in addition to language, I also teach history, culture, and etymology that is relevant to the subject matter.
