Information About Stephen - Harwich teacher

Personal Description:

I am a qualified English language teacher. I hold the postgraduate certificate in TESOL, am a resident of the UK and a native English speaker. My experience is mainly in teaching Chinese children and adults from basic through to IELTS. I have a degree in history and during my career specialised in managing cultural heritage including art collections and printed books. I have an excellent knowledge of historic buildings and British and Irish administrative history, together with a knowledge of commerce and military history and am ideally positioned to teach the wider cultural, political and administrative aspects of the English speaking countries. I am interested in current affairs and the Far East. I am happy to visit clients in London, Essex, Suffolk and Kent.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Chinese juniors and adults for 3 1/2 years and concurrently work for iTutorGroup. I have experience helping improve IELTS scores and past clients have included a Chinese postgraduate student and Chinese professor.

Teaching Approach:

I ascertain the student’s needs and level. I develop conversational English, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary as requested or as indicated. I enable maximum student talking time and make lessons fun and interesting, with good use of props/realia and images.
