Personal Description:

I have 20+ years experience teaching English to international adults for business, academia, The Arts and leisure - individuals and groups in UK and Spain. Language is organic. Optimized learning is best achieved through an integral approach where you learn by doing in practical realistic ways.

I love most music and to dance Five Rhythms, to explore and walk in wild nature. A naturally curious person I find those great questions that inspire new conversations: I am a life-long learner! I am also passionate about good investigative journalism that educates and expands our awareness of the world. I consider it a great privilege to be a real contribution in the lives of people who are committed to bring out the best of them selves and to make a difference - with their own special unique purpose, in the lives of others and their worlds.
Since I was a young person I have been able to think outside the box: Fresh ideas and inspiration enrich my environments.

Teaching Experience:

Since 1998 (CELTA: International House, Piccadilly London) I have taught thousands of international students in multi-cultural classes, for groups and individuals in colleges, businesses and online in UK and Spain. I was voted best teacher in the number one language academy in London at the time, in 2011. One of my specialities is teaching pronunciation - which also radically improved clarity for students, in both listening and speaking: boosting confidence.
Many business people, intellectuals, scientists and artists have really enjoyed improving their English skills and now value their very slight Welsh accent - for the extra clarity it provides!

Teaching Approach:

I use the communication approach – a Cambridge specialty. I am highly sensitive to student needs and in allowing creativity to lead the imagination into new neurolinguistic territory, making each session original, relevant and fun! Making a real connection between student and teacher is very important so I encourage us both to be honest and clear with each other from the start.

You are the best resource for upgrading your English language: so your work, personal values, interests, goals, life experiences – past, present and future will inform our main fields of practice: You will tell me what topics and type of materials interest you so that I can design classes that naturally engage your full attention and that are relevant to your personal and professional development.

We all learn in different ways. Regardless of the goals, I will work with you to achieve them, whether seeking to quickly upgrade your English for a promotion, or making a big presentation in the workplace, or being able to converse freely in English.
