Personal Description:

I am a professional French Tutor and Language Coach with over 14 years’ experience mentoring language students to improve their confidence, overcome hurdles, and maximise their knowledge and potential. I am also a member of The Tutors' Association (the UK’s non-profit professional membership body for the tuition industry). I work with both school-aged and adult students.

An enthusiastic educator specialising in French grammar, speaking and listening skills, I have a friendly and patient approach to language learning, and design my lessons around each student’s aims, interests and ambitions, keeping study sessions fun and motivation high.

I have a DESEM qualification (equivalent to a UK Honours degree) from Euromed Management School in Marseille, France (now Kedge Business School). A prestigious and selective 'école de commerce', all tuition was in French. I also have a BA (Hons) degree in European Management (2:1) from Middlesex University Business School in London.

I lived, worked and studied in France for several years and I am bilingual in all aspects of daily French life, culture and business.

I operate very flexible hours both during the day and in the evenings, during the week and at weekends, including school and public holidays.

I have an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) Certificate.

Teaching Experience:

Working with school aged students:
With younger students, I offer one-to-one online French tuition for 13+, GCSE, iGCSE, and A Level exam preparation, also undergraduate support.

 Students build confidence in the subject, any gaps in their knowledge are identified and filled, and gifted students can be stretched beyond their actual academic level.

 I am familiar with all the UK’s major exam boards and their French exam syllabi.

Working with adult students:
 I work with adults on improving their Business French skills across a wide range of industry sectors. A second language is sometimes a job requirement, and is seen as a highly sought-after skill by management and hiring departments alike.

 Similarly, I work with adults who are learning French for pleasure. Learning on a one-to-one basis can often provide the motivation an adult student is looking for if they have had difficulties with home-learning resources or other types of self-study.

Teaching Approach:

Whatever the student’s age or ability, my calm, patient and considerate approach to tutoring creates an environment where no question is silly, any worries about the subject can be discussed openly, and frustrations can be ironed out, explored and worked through.
