Information About Sabine - Rossendale teacher

Personal Description:

I am a German native speaker who has lived in the UK for over twenty years. I am fluent in English, hold a B2 qualification in Italian, have learned French and Russian in school and have had an insight into many other languages in my professional practice. I am passionate about language learning and exploring other cultures.

Teaching Experience:

After training as a teacher for German and English in Berlin (Germany) and working there for some years, I moved to the UK where I took on a teaching post for English as an Additional Language (EAL). In this role I encountered learners of English from many different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. I had to tailor my lessons to the learners' needs to ensure that they could access the school curriculum and learn English at the same time.
For over ten years I have conducted GCSE speaking exams in both German and Italian.

Teaching Approach:

I am flexible and have experience in adapting my lessons so that they build on my students' prior knowledge and interests. My experience with learners from a great range of different backgrounds allows me to anticipate challenges learners are facing and cater for their specific needs.
In my professional experience as a language teacher and my experience as a learner of languages it is best if beginners opt for frequent short lessons whilst more advanced learners need longer lessons, which may be less frequent. My prices for the two beginner levels (survival/beginner and functional/intermediate) are based on 30-minute lessons whilst the prices for the more advanced levels are based on 60-minute lessons. I am happy to negotiate how to best cater for your needs.
