Information About Radia - Hertford teacher

Personal Description:

I am a French native speaker from Paris (born in Normandy) and been leaving in UK for 20 years.
My passion for teaching comes from a long way back and I am still very passionate about teaching Languages. I get a real sense of achievement when I see my students getting over their struggle and gaining confidence with their linguistic skills. One fun fact about me: I have mostly taught Spanish throughout my teaching experience from KS3 all the way to A levels, despite being a French native speaker.
I have a degree from Paris X university, lived in Spain (Madrid) for a year during my studies and frequently go back to my second city of adoption (Madrid of course!).
I am currently preparing an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy as well as teaching part time in a boys school.
I speak French, Spanish and Arabic.

Teaching Experience:

For young learners and students:
I prepared and supported students from GCSE to A level exams. I have successfully taught in mainstream schools and private schools in some outstanding schools within my area. I held a UK teaching qualification from the most prestigious teacher trainee provider in London (UCL, previously known as the Institute of Education).
I have worked for 15 years as a Head of Department and I am au fait with the specification from AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge examination.
I can support you with your GCSE, IGCSE, A-Levels and International Baccalaureate. I can provide support to students at university levels.
I cover the skills for
For adults: your lesson will be tailored individually to your needs wether you are learning for pleasure or professional purposes. The focus will be conversational, grammatical and vocabulary built up. My background at university is Languages applied to business and law.

Teaching Approach:

I have a holistic approach to teaching.I believe that it is important to build confidence and trust for the lessons to work. Therefore discussing first and reviewing regularly your needs, learning objectives and goals is an essential part of the process. I understand that each individual is unique and one approach to learning does not fit all. I adapt my teaching to the way you learn and work, and would ensure that you make the most of your lesson. I am patient and calm, I also have a good sense of humour and will put you at ease as you will get to know me. I never give up and always strive to adapt my teaching to my students' needs.
I will ensure that the learning is scaffolding and focus on the skill that is required for you to improve (reading, writing, speaking or listening or all of them, but not at once!). I also have a level 7 in counselling which makes me a great listener and good in identifying underlying learning challenge.
