Personal Description:

Hello I am Ozlem a native Turkish speaker and an English as a Second Language teacher. I studied English Language and English Literature at Istanbul University. Now I am the director of a company which is based in Tonbridge, Kent and I provide my clients with translation and tuition services .I have been teaching Turkish for over six years.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a qualified teacher since 2003.

Teaching Approach:

I decide on the method after the first session with the student. It mostly depends on the student's needs. However, in my opinion the communicative approach is the best approach for language teaching. Students need the language to communicate so why not focus on it first.

I have made good progress and Ozlem's teaching style is very simple to undertand but challenging enough to push you to make progress. Each lesson is crammed with content! Very happy I contacted her, looking forward to my weekly lessons.

From Shane (5/5): Ozlem is a great teacher, i have spent a several lessons with her. within the first session she understood what i knew and adapted the lessons around that, which is much better than starting from the very beginning as it is not necessary. She is very friendly and tries to accomdate lessons around your needs rather than hers. I feel much more confident in turkish already!

From Aliye (5/5): I have been learning Turkish with Özlem, and being from a half Turkish background she’s took time to understand what I know and where to start from. She has a clear structure of plans and order of what to start with and work on. Although I already knew a little Turkish I’ve found she’s helped me with speaking, usually embarrassed whenever I do try to speak it I’ve found I’m not as bad now that she really does get you talking and corrects mistakes. She is a great teacher and a lovely person and I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
