Personal Description:
I am native Spanish speaker and a qualified and experienced Spanish teacher.
I offer Spanish lessons for all levels and purposes.

For GCSE, A-Level, DELE and IB my student`s grades have been equal or above their target grades. This is because I prepare my lesson`s according to each student`s needs using a range of resources to cover all aspects of the language learning: Listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar.

For A Level I cover all the books theater plays and movies within the curriculum: La casa de Bernarda Alba, Crónica de una muerte anunciada, Como agua para chocolate, Réquiem por un campesino español, La sombra del viento, La casa de los espíritus, Rimas, Las bicicletas son para el verano, El otro árbol de Guernica, El coronel no tiene quien le escriba, El laberinto del fauno, Ocho apellidos vascos, María, llena eres de gracia, Volver, Abel, Las 13 rosas and any other.
I offer enjoyable lessons to all levels and I offer extensive out of lesson support providing my learners with activities to do in their free time and recordings of words for them to practice their pronunciation. I also give them links to web pages to further develop their knowledge of the language.

Teaching Approach:
In my opinion learning a language should be an enjoyable experience so I have that as a priority when planning my lessons.I also take into account the learner's needs and their preferred learning style and prepare the lessons accordingly. It is very rewrading for me to help learners achieve their expected exam results.

From Fiona (/5): We weren't expecting my son to pass his Spanish GCSE before we contacted Mirkia. He got his results yesterday and got an 8! We are all so pleased. Mirkia worked so hard with my son and was really flexible and patient with him. He didn't enjoy learning languages at school at all but was happy to have lessons with Mirkia.

My spanish has improved in the time we've been working together and I always enjoy the lessons. It's a pleasure to be tutored by someone that truly cares about their students and can't recommend her highly enough!

The lessons are a perfect mix of conversation and grammar, and because it's one-to-one she's been able to answer all my questions about the best way to say things in Spanish. I would really recommend her as a teacher.

From Helen (/5): My daughter is really enjoying her A level tuition sessions with Mirkia who has been excellent at identifying her problem areas & working on them & also setting extra homework to keep her mind active. We can already see a great improvement in her confidence of the language which will hopefully show up in her end of year exams. I would highly recommend Mirkia for any level Spanish tuition.

She seems to have a very in-depth knowledge of grammar and is able to explain this in a way I understand. She uses a variety of materials and exercises which make the lessons fun.
