Personal Description:
Patient, calm, reliable, caring, loving, thoughtful, compassionate, organised … are some of the words my friends and students have used to describe me. I was born and brought up in Japan and I have been living in England for 24 years. I am a Japanese mother and wife who loves people and teaching.
Teaching Experience:
My teaching career started when I was at university in Japan, coaching my high school’s athletics team and giving some children private English tuition at home. I taught English at two private high schools in Japan for 12 years. Here in England, I have been giving private tuition of Japanese to non-Japanese people and of English to non-English-speaking people.
Teaching Approach:
Different approaches for different students. I work with my students to find the best and most efficient way for them to learn Japanese or English. Some prefer an informal chat style of learning and ask a broad range of questions. Some would rather have more organised structures. Others love singing and playing games… especially young learners. What is your motivation for learning Japanese? Japanese traditional culture, pop-culture, business opportunities, Japanese food, travel, teaching English to Japanese students… ? It is a joy to plan each lesson to suit the student's needs and interests in order to develop the full potential of everyone.

MihoFrom Hoyee (5/5): Miho-san is clear and organised in scheduling and planning our sessions. She gives very concise explanation about syntax and terms, which is greatly helpful for learners at a beginner level like me!

From Nathaniel (/5): I was very nervous and skeptical about online lessons as i had never attempted it before. However Miho-San made me extremely comfortable on the first lesson and has been extremely professional when it comes to the lessons. She has always got something prepared in advance for the lessons and is very patient with me as her student. And has a very kind and understanding manor to teaching. She is always willing to answer any questions i may have whether that is during lessons or not.
If anyone is thinking about learning Japaense and I would highly recommend they get in contact with Miho-San, she is superb! You will not regret it.

She likes to speak with the student about the progress of the lessons and this allows us to focus on the important things that I will need once I move to Japan, very customised lessons!
