Personal Description:

Hi everyone! I am resident in the UK with my British wife,　who is a fluent Japanese speaker. I was born and raised in Japan and am a Native Japanese Speaker I have experience in teaching Japanese online to students of various nationalities, as well as to diplomatic colleagues and my family. Crucially, I also have experience as a language learner – of English and Korean. I have a passion for teaching and I would love to help you learn Japanese and share different cultures with you.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience spans more than 40 years – initially as a junior and senior high school tutor in English and Japanese. I also hold a formal Japanese teaching diploma, which involved teaching adult beginners and experienced business people. This means that I can handle any kind of learner, from the beginner to those at a highly advanced level.

Teaching Approach:

I can tailor materials according to the needs, preferences and abilities of the learners, and refine this based on the results of diagnosing the learner and feedback during class. I am conscious that grammar may be difficult to grasp, but I try to create classes that are designed to make learning enjoyable. Having lived and studied languages in places like the UK, South Korea and Switzerland, I know how to make learning both fun and useful. Students can prepare their own textbooks, but I also have some, so let's discuss and decide.

The learning platforms I mainly use are ZOOM, Skype, and Google Meet. I am also happy to teach at your home if it is within 30 minutes from me, or you are welcome to come to my house.
