Personal Description:
I am a German native speaker, educated to degree level with additional qualifications in teaching languages. I am passionate about languages and speak - apart from German - English, Italian, French and Mandarin Chinese and am able to understand a great deal of other languages.
I have worked in business for the last 10 years and am thus capable of teaching German from beginners level to advanced as well as business German.
Teaching Experience:
I have been running my own successful foreign language tutoring business for over 10 years now. I regularly teach and have been teaching numerous private students from casual learners (adults and children) to GCSE, AS and A level preparation, university degree level as well as business German.
In addition I have for 8 years taught four German Classes a week at Handsworth Primary School in Highams Park and have also taught at various other Primary Schools in London and Essex. Recently I have worked as German Language Assistant at Woodford County High School for Girls and at Leigh Languages in Buckhurst Hill.
I am also running a children's group for bilingual children in London since 2003. Children in this group are taught German through play.
Teaching Approach:
I am enthusiastic about languages and will always tailor lessons to the individual's needs. Lessons can be for primary school children, GCSE and A-lvel preparation as well as casual learners and business German.
I have access to a wide range of materials from course books for casual learners to business German, children's books, CDs, previous exam papers (GCSE and A-level German) to grammar books as well as of course multiple Internet resources, TV in German and partially Italian.
I am a very patient person and will do my up-most to support each individual in their learning goals.

We have focussed on grammar in the context both passive and active language skills (reading, listening and speaking). I was delighted with the texts she recommended and, as someone who never studied German in school, I'm pleased with the progress I'm making with her as a tutor. From Ian (/5): My son year 9 has very inconsistent German lessons so far at school with 6 teachers. My son says that Jutta is excellent. He’s had 2 lesson so far. Jutta is great. She praises him frequently and builds his confidence and self esteem. She is patient and is always checking his learning. She is a native German speaker. She is very flexible to his needs. We look forward to her continuing with him. Obviously in these difficult times we have to conduct lessons on line which is less than ideal. However my son is definitely learning.

From Wei (/5): Jutta teaches my two daughters age 11 and 6. I can see my daughter’s German improved a lot very quickly. She always prepared enough materials for each lesson. Not only she is a German native speaker but she also has solid teaching experience and knowledge of different languages. For my younger daughter, she also makes sure the lesson is fun to learn. Definitely recommended.

From Mihaela (/5): I studied German a little in evening classes and although I know some grammar and vocabulary, I found it very difficult to be able to use my knowledge when needed. Therefore I was looking for a teacher to help me progress with the use of German language because nothing can replace the one-to-one lessons. As I am a mature person, I hoped to find a teacher with solid teaching experience, lots of patience, sense of humor and, last but not least, to be a native German speaker. After 2 lessons I can say that I am very happy I found Jutta, I am sure she has all the qualities to support my efforts in mastering this difficult language and I am looking forward my next lessons.

From Sabine (/5): Both of my children have been taught by Jutta for the last 18 months. German is not offered at their school, so apart from Jutta engaging them in learning the language, she also taught them the whole curriculum/ syllabus, vital exam techniques and prepared them for GCSE and AS exams respectively. The recent changes to the syllabus required teachers to be familiar with the new curriculum, the support material, the new requirements, rules, regulations and marking schemes of the different exam boards as well as the different literature works and films from the list of options. Jutta was well prepared before the start of the course and kept up to date as new training opportunities would be released throughout the year by the examination boards. We always found her well prepared, enthusiastic and ahead of the game.
Jutta carries out accurate assessments to get to know the areas requiring improvements and then tailors her lessons to the individual’s needs, keeping the bigger picture in mind whilst attending to detail. My children soon noticed their progress, remained focused and motivated and passed their exams with flying colours (A* for GCSE and an A for AS) and want to carry on to the next level.
I cannot sing Jutta's praises high enough and I can only congratulate her on her enthusiasm to get out the best of each student.
