Personal Description:

I am Suksuk. I was born and brought up in Seoul, Korea. I am a fun, engaging, and interactive teacher.
I have been interested in learning a new language since I was young. That's why I come and live in England to be more fluent in English.
I can speak Korean(native), English(c2), French(B2), Chinese(B1), and Japanese(B1). I know how hard it is to learn languages and make sure my students don't go through my mistakes in my language journey when you learn Korean.

I am so passionate about the Korean language and culture. Sharing my talents and experiences in teaching Korean with you is one of the best things that I have ever had in my life. At the moment, I worked with the Korean government to promote the Korean language and culture at British Schools. I am a two-time winner of teaching Korean class in England. I love K-pops and K-dramas and movies and want to share it with you.

Teaching Experience:

. 1998 - 2005 Taught English and Korean
. 2017 - 2023 Taught Korean and culture to adults and international couples' children at Birmingham Korean School (age ranged from 4 to 45 yrs old)
. 2018 - 2019 Taught Korean(Alphabets and basic conversation) at Birmingham University
. 2019 - present Run successfully Korean club, the Korean government project, at Holy Trinity school
. 2020- Present Teach Korean to students (all the ages ranged up to 70 yrs) Italki online. More than 4000 lessons online
. 2021- Present Teach Korean to students( primary and high school students) American Language Academy called BVWLA(currently Globetrotter Languages Academy)
.2024- Present Run Korean club teaching Korean and culture at King Charles 1 School in England.

Teaching Approach:

My speciality is teaching Korean alphabet, speaking(strong focus), writing, grammar and Topik test preparation. After assessing students' levels, needs and goals, I ensure to provide the tailored lesson to suit students best.

I focus on teaching high frequency real-life day- to- day words and sentences to help you speak Korean using my own materials, which have proved to be working to many students. Plus, Youtube videos I made for students is used during the class. I teach Korean words that have similar components as a batch. If you struggle with picking up Korean words and Topik test, it will be very helpful to improve your vocabulary.

I am organised, highly effective and patient. I spend a lot of time on class preparation, using students' needs analysis and make a Korean course Syllabus to achieve a structured lesson and higher level of learning. I will do 200 per cent to help you make a progress in any areas in Korean and reach your goals.

After class, my own teaching materials and assignments-online resources such as Quizlet, Kahoot and word wall will be offered for your review in your own time over your email.

My teaching materials are my own PPT, YouTube videos, articles, trials and error notes- mistakes in speaking and writing Korean from previous students and webtoons, K-dramas ,K-pops and Topik test mock exam papers. Let me know if you want any particular textbooks or topics you want to use, I am adaptable.

I really enjoy teaching and helping you succeed in learning Korean and achieving your language goal. This is my calling not a job.
