Information About John - Pinner teacher

Personal Description:

A graduate in Classics from Bristol University, I have been learning Latin since I was 10 years old! As the world of Ancient Rome and the Latin language are so important to me, I would love the opportunity to help someone else understand and grow to love it too.

Teaching Experience:

I have done work experience as a teaching assistant at various stages throughout my time in secondary school; I have also mentored first year Classics students when I was in my final year of university, helping them to understand difficult texts or grammatical constructions.

Teaching Approach:

Depending on the level of the student: for beginners, I can start with some simple grammatical exercises (declining nouns and conjugating verbs) and move on to sentences and phrases, with some vocabulary to learn each week. For more intermediate learners, I would set a passage to go through, again highlighting the new grammatical structures we will learn and setting relevant vocabulary to learn for the week. I will also be sprinkling in some fun facts about the Ancient Romans or about the text itself!
