Information About Jane - Brentwood teacher

Personal Description:

I am a qualified teacher and keen linguist with a First Class Honours BA in French from Durham University. I have also lived and worked in France for 28 years in bilingual jobs and I brought up my children to be bilingual.

Teaching Experience:

I have had 9 years of experience as a class teacher in a Primary School where I was also subject leader for French, responsible for choosing a scheme of work and monitoring the standard of teaching and learning of the language, as well as teaching it myself.

I have given private lessons to a number of students at varying levels and understand the challenges of learning a foreign language and developing the key skills of speaking and listening, reading and (where needed) writing in that language.

Teaching Approach:

As a tutor, I am patient, kind, encouraging and enthusiastic. I strive to make learning enjoyable for my students. I know how to adapt my teaching to different learning styles and personalities and I enjoy enabling my students to succeed in their goals. I am keen to pass on my own passion for all things French and can share insights into French life and culture, including Francophone countries outside France itself.
