Personal Description:

Hola! I'm a native Spanish speaker living in the Westcliff area, I work in a local secondary school ans a Spanish Teacher and I teach across KS3 and KS4. I would love to teach and converse with anyone interested in learning the language or improve their speaking and listening skills.
I'm friendly, patient, relaxed, reliable and dedicated. I'm able to teach based on levels and objectives, grammar, pronunciation, speaking, reading, writing or simply conversational classes. I can help you!

Teaching Experience:

I’ve been teaching Spanish since 2015 and it is easier for me to teach Spanish because I studied English as a second language, so I understand the process and challenges of learning another language. I know that every person learns in a different way. I worked as a Language Assistant in a private school in Chelmsford.I have been teaching Spanish to Adult beginners, intermediate and fluent speakers, GCSE students, A Levels and young children in private sessions from Tuesdays to Fridays.

Teaching Approach:

I believe that languages are for everyone and I also believe that everyone is capable of learning another language given the right guidance.
* Based on my experience the communicative approach gives primacy to oral work. Direct contact with the language is very important. Not just from hearing the teacher, but also from using it and from hearing other people besides the teacher. Having personal contact with the language, practicing sounds, improvising and trying to make your own sentences and getting the chance to make mistakes and learn from doing so.

It is great to learn from a native Spanish speaker and each week i feel a little more confident with my Spanish. She is very encouraging even when I make basic mistakes and emails me the lesson after so I can practice at home. A very nice lady, fun lessons and good value for money. I can't recommend her highly enough.

From Steve (5/5): It's early days, but I think I'm making measured progress. The hour long weekly sessions are just enough along with the "homework" set each week. Floribeth's style and approach is relaxed and informal with reading and speaking opportunities as well as raising questions. It's too early to say (only 3 sessions), but I think this one-on-one approach will benefit me hopefully to the point of engaging with my future Spanish countryman!

From Carol (5/5): I can't recommend Floribeth enough - she is an excellent teacher! She is patient, understanding in that everyone has different learning abilities and adapts to your needs. The lessons are well organised and she works through everything with you. I am on my third lesson and have learnt more than I did on a course at evening classes. Most of all I am thoroughly enjoying the lessons and this makes me determined to study and learn the language with her.

From Maddy (5/5): It's been really helpful to have you to practise with, and I think my speaking is already improving after 3 weeks! I think practising with past questions is definitely helping, and it's great that you can always help me say what I want to, but when I don't quite know how.

I found Floribeth by searching on Lima, finding First Tutors then looking for someone in my area and I got lucky. Floribeth is lovely, knowledgeable and a great tutor. She also has a fab sense of humour which she must need with students like me! Genuinely after a few weeks I am already getting a grasp of the language, feeling confident(ish) after a few weeks and inspite of my British reserve Floribeth has given me the confidence to try it out because she understands coming to terms with another language. Floribeth is great and seriously good value for money.
