Information About Emily - Glasgow teacher

Personal Description:

I'm Emily and I'm from Liverpool. I'm an experienced tutor of Spanish and I have a First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Italian.

I have always loved learning languages and being able to speak the language of the countries I travel to, hence why I studied a languages degree at university. So far I can speak Spanish, Italian, and a little bit of French.I love to share my foreign-language learning tips and tricks with other budding linguist enthusiasts of all abilities. I have lived in and travelled around Spain for years, including Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, and Granada.

Teaching Experience:

I taught Spanish to GCSE students at my secondary school, which involved weekly grammar lessons, vocabulary activities, and one-to-one speaking practice. Previous lessons involved engaging students with Spanish music to enhance listening skills, fun vocabulary quizzes, and verb memory games.
DBS certified.

Teaching Approach:

My first “introductory” lesson will be used as a basis to get to know the student’s language ability, learning style, and what you would like to achieve by the end of the tutoring sessions. My classes are taught online, but this does not hinder the student-teacher rapport nor the student's language process. This is because my lessons are highly interactive; I curate an array of practical activities for the student to engage with, including role-plays (an interview, starting a conversation with a friend in a cafe, ordering food at a restaurant), and practical writing activities such as writing an email or a letter to a friend. These activities naturally encompass vocabulary specific lists and grammar practice tailored to the student's level.
