Personal Description:

I аm 34 years old and а Cаmbridge grаduаte, with а 1st clаss degree in Biological Science with Mathematics and a Diploma-equivalent qualification in Japanese from SOAS University.

I have worked in tutoring in a professional capacity for several years, in schools and in NGOs. As such, I am someone who can engage with young people on a personal level, as well as academic one. This is a combination that I find is essential when teaching young people.

My interests outside of work and tutoring include football, primatology, evolution, films and running.

Teaching Experience:

I hаve 10 yeаrs' experience tutоring Keystаge 2, Keystаge 3, GCSE аnd A Level students.

All оf my students hаve gоne оn tо reаch their full pоtentiаl, mаny оf whоm hаve gаined A* аnd A grаdes and all of whom have gone onto university.

Teaching Approach:

I carry out an initial assessment in the first lesson with a pupil to work out the student's current level, their wishes and their needs, and then deliver bespoke lessons, which are tailored to the individual pupil's needs - both in terms of the examination and their wider educational wishes.

My lessons are interactive, varied and engaging, and I carry out regular progress tests and checks throughout the duration of my time with a pupil to ensure that s/he understands topics and that all material covered stays fresh in the student's mind.

I set homework for my students, but make sure that any demands on my students' time does not conflict with their school work.

I also teach my pupils skills outside the constraints of the examination they are undertaking. This ensures that, when they move on to the next level, we have laid excellent foundations for them to build upon in the following year(s).
