Personal Description:

Hi, I'm Debbie and I'm a friendly, experienced English teacher to adults. I've taught in two language schools, online and face to face with individuals. I've also welcomed many students into my home In London for intensive Homestay tuition. I have the full CELTA qualification and and a degree in English. I'm passionate about helping you improve your spoken and written English. My lessons are always well-prepared and fun for learners, whatever level you are.

Teaching Experience:

After qualifying in TEFL in 2013, I've taught on a one-to-one basis, both in person and online, and have had "total immersion" students of all abilities from all over the world to stay in my house. I've taught for 9 years at a reputable language school with great success in preparing students for the Cambridge First Certificate (B2+) , Advanced (C1) and Proficiency (C2) levels. My strength is building your confidence in speaking English and teaching writing of all types, from essays, reports, application letters to informal emails/texts - anything you need for exams and for everyday life. I I now teach mainly online but I'm available for in-person teaching if it's convenient for us both.

Teaching Approach:

I believe you learn best when you "click" with your teacher, and I have a very easy-going and approachable nature. With me you will definitely have some fun as well - I use vocabulary and speaking games which will build your confidence and bring some humour to our lessons. We will discuss topics that interest you, and I can set small or larger homework tasks, depending on your time. I always make grammar understandable, whether you are a beginner or an advanced student of English.
