Personal Description:

I am a committed and enthusiastic language lover who takes pride in giving others the invaluable opportunity to learn both French and Spanish from beginner to advanced level.

My years as a freelance language user (namely for translation) are a result of a lifelong fascination with languages, beginning from when I was little and had my first French lesson at the age of five. Since then, I have gone on to study both French and Spanish as part of my university degree, spend a year abroad living and studying in Spain and make full use of both languages on my travels across the world. It is through gaining not only knowledge but confidence and independence that I have truly realised the essence of using either one of these languages, and inspired me to help others to learn them too.

Teaching Experience:

I have enjoyed the experience of meeting new people who are keen to learn and improve their language skills and help them to enrich both their knowledge and their passion for learning French and Spanish. This began when I was a volunteer foreign language tandem partner both at my university in Southampton and my year-abroad university in Spain. During my university days, I found I enjoyed the one-on-one teaching approach to be the most engaging way for both myself as a non-native Spanish speaker to learn the language and for my Spanish tandem partner in turn to learn English.

I have recently started privately tutoring students of all ages and at all levels in my hometown of Basingstoke having returned from several months travelling.

Teaching Approach:

I believe in a fun and flexible approach to learning languages and strive to make my lessons as varied and enriching as possible for each and every student at every level. My mission is to make learning both French and Spanish as exciting and as easy as possible and through doing this prove that languages are easier and more fun to learn than they might think.

I conduct all lessons via Zoom and send all work material covered in each lesson to a student once the lesson is completed.
