Personal Description:

I am an enthusiastic and successful tutor of Italian. I have studied Education and I am CLTA and DITALS qualified. I am teaching for about 10 years now and I met about 100 students.
My lessons are specifically designed to help each learner achieving their goals. This is because everybody is special and unique in terms of needs and learning styles! As a results I have never delivered the same identical lesson.
My calm and reassuring attitude make my students at ease with me. They know that a mistake is a learning moment and the lesson is not a stressful time. I'm aware about the fact that learning a new language could be intimidating. Consequently, I'm always concerned about my students welfare and I make sure that everybody is relaxed.

I'm teaching Italian privately for about 10 years to a large variety of learners:
individual, groups, corporate, GCSE, A-levels, General Italian, Uni, Business etc

The emphasis is on the grammar which is the essential first step for anyone at beginner level. I feel that I am progressing well so I can happily recommend Carla to anyone that is learning Italian. Carla is a wonderful Tutor. She is clear precise and informed and prepared Clemmie very well for her exam. She also has a great personality so is a pleasure to spend time with. We can highly recommend Carla. Clemmie very much enjoyed her lessons and felt inspired to do well and continue with her Italian.

Hi Carla,

I just had my Italian oral and I think it went really well!

My teacher and another were in the room and were very complimentary! She said that I had finesse, that my pronunciation was excellent and encouraged me to continue learning the language!

He received full marks in all sections except Unit 2 where he scored 88/90.

Carla is a fantastic tutor who employs a direct method which not only teaches you the fundamentals of the language, but it also teaches you to speak more like a native speaker. 
Her methods are simple, enjoyable yet highly effective and Carla has a profound knowledge of her subject. Each lesson was tailor made for my needs and we covered a range of complex subjects in an easy format. 
I learnt more in the short space of time spent with Carla than all the hours spent reading grammar books.

Teaching Approach:

Learning a new language in context is the only way to get the real essence of that language. Studying from a list of words is not guarantee of success, everything is going to be forgotten very soon systematically. If words are learnt when the student needs them and consequently he places them immediately in context, he will learn fast, building a new vocabulary meaning, getting words into a long term memory.
Also, I strongly believe on the effectiveness of the old grammar and translation methods in order to speak accurately. Every part of the sentence needs to be analysed closely. This days grammar is neglected, but it's so pleasant to listen to people who respect the grammar rules!
