Personal Description:

I am an experienced TEFL tutor, with a CELTA certificate, and have taught levels from Elementary up to Proficiency.

I have a BA in Archaeology and an MPhil in Greek Archaeology. I am also the author of six published books on archaeology, ancient history and mythology. I live in Southmoor, 10 miles south west of Oxford.

Teaching Experience:

I am presently employed teaching English and Classical Civilisation privately and at Kings Education Oxford. I have also worked at Cherwell College, and, from May 2013 to June 2015, I worked as an Academic English teacher at Oxford Tutorial College, central Oxford. Prior to that I was a TEFL teacher at Oxford House College, Oxford.

From 1999-2012, I lived in Greece where I was a TEFL teacher at 3 different English schools. I also worked as a private TEFL tutor in Greece for 10 years.

Teaching Approach:

I have a relaxed, friendly but methodical approach to tutoring and strive to eliminate barriers between the student and teacher to provide a more rewarding learning experience. I believe it is important to identify areas that students may have problems with and make it a part of the lesson to focus on overcoming these difficulties.
