Personal Description:
An experienced, multi-lingual tutor, fluent in English, French, Spanish and Chinese. I am a linguist at heart, also speaking German, Japanese, Italian and Afrikaans to differing degrees. I hold a BA in French and Spanish (with distinctions in Oral French and Spoken Spanish) as well as an HSK L4 in Mandarin Chinese. I have experience of living, and teaching, in Spain and China, and for the past few years have utilised my languages in a professional capacity (working with partners and businesses in China, Taiwan, Chile, France, Senegal, Mexico, Nicaragua).
Teaching Experience:
Private French tutoring (UK): French conversation/grammar tuition for adult learners.
Private English tutoring (China): 1:1 tutoring with clients across diverse ages (from 5 years old to 40 years old).
Language Assistant – State primary school, Asturias, Spain.
I spent a year working as a language assistant in a Spanish primary school with a bilingual curriculum. I supported preparing and leading Art/Mathematics classes in English for 5th and 6th year pupils (aged 10-12).

The Student Associates Scheme was a Government funded programme funded by the Teacher Training Agency (TTA). It was aimed at attracting more undergraduates into the teaching profession, particularly those studying in the shortage subject areas. It consisted of night-school lectures and seminars on pedagogical methods for teaching, followed by in-person placement within local schools.

I take a client-centred approach to tutoring, ensuring that sessions are tailored to maximise learning in a fun and impactful way.
