Personal Description:

Hi, my name's Andy! I consider myself to be a friendly, personable guy with a fairly laid-back attitude which has helped me through the highs and lows of life. After completing my education in the NE of England, I went on to live in Germany, Mexico and Spain - at all times loving the language and culture and learning the language to fluency level. My three children are all bi- or tri-lingual, having been brought up in Catalonia, and I now live in the UK but continue to teach and learn languages, with Portuguese becoming a recent addition, following annual visits to an orphanage built in Mozambique.

Teaching Experience:

Following completion of Further Education, I went to live in Germany and then Mexico, where I was an EFL teacher both in a public and private school capacity. Then I moved to Spain where I continued to teach English for some years before finally moving back to the UK. Returning to the Secondary School system, I've now been a teacher of Spanish for many years, as well as offering French and German to GCSE level. I continue to really enjoy teaching languages via a local Supply Agency.

Teaching Approach:

Fun is the key!! If a student can enjoy his or her lesson and really look forward to the next one, then I believe that important 'inspiration' factor has taken place! This will depend on the pace each student can proceed at, and will be totally individual, with absolutely no pressure to perform until truly confident and ready. The classroom environment is much more challenging than this home / online option, and I look forward to helping and inspiring many students.
