Personal Description:

Hi, I'm Martins, I train and tutor on AI and data science topics. I am experienced in building websites and mobile applications, so I tutor on those too.

I'm an Aerospace Engineering graduate and I recently completed an MPhil in Computer Science. For my research, I applied Natural Language Processing and Machine learning to detect fake news.

I have previously worked as a data scientist and a consultant. I have a passion for teaching and for learning. I was a teaching assistant at my uni. and I used to teach programming on Saturdays as part of a volunteering scheme in my local community. In my spare time, I enjoy cycling, or roaming around museums, bookshops and parks.

Training Experience:

I have tutored learners of varying ages, who are at the college, university and professional levels. I was contracted to create two online courses for en EdTech startup.

I have previously worked as a data scientist and a consultant. I have several years of programming experience, and about 2000 hours of tutoring experience.

Training Approach:

I design lessons around the specific, individual need of each student. This means that the student maximally benefits from the lesson as it is well-tailored to their need(s). I believe we learn best when we are inspired to be curious, and when we are shown empathy. So I always try to be kind and strive to make learning an engaging and fun experience for my students. We learn at different rates and in different ways, too. Therefore, I commit time and effort to understand how best to help each student.
