Personal Description:
I have taught AAT on-line and in the classroom for more than 15 years and I use an interactive whiteboard, allowing students to access the content of each lesson on demand. I am friendly and approachable and I believe that developing a good relationship with the students leads to exam success. First lesson is FREE. Enhanced DBS can be provided before the first lesson.
My first career in the UK was working in Finance with international Companies for 15 years. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the UK in 2003 (ACCA member). Teaching has always been a life-long ambition - and in the past fifteen years I have qualified as both a lecturer and assessor, working in further education.

I teach the AAT qualification from level 2 to level 4.
I have worked both as a Management Accountant and Financial Accountant in industry working mainly in the manufacturing sector for large groups and multinational Companies.
Training Methods:
I am flexible in the way I teach and adapt to students' preferences. I provide clear explanations of the most technical aspects and focus on demystifying jargon. I help students identify their weaknesses and practise questions until they are ready for the exam.

VanessaFrom Martin (5/5): I would highly recommend working with Vanessa, I am really happy to of discovered Vanessa through first tutors having online tuition which has really help me accelerate my learning and have just recently completed and passed my level 2 AAT bookkeeping I will be continuing my studies with Vanessa doing my Level 3 AAT bookkeeping, Working with Vanessa is a pleasure and makes the learning really enjoyable and is a lovely person, Vanessa helps with finding course work and study notes on areas to study to do in my spare time to get more ready for the next lesson and helped me so much getting me ready for my exam, Vanessa is full of knowledge and understands and makes an effort for yourself to figure it out as much as possible , I have progressed so much faster through Vanessa than trying to do it alone I would highly recommend working with Vanessa.
From Samantha (/5): Our son has been studying Functional Level 2 Maths and Vanessa has been amazing, our son has dyslexia and Vanessa assisted him to break the questions down so that he could work on the question in parts and not be confused by the complicated wording of questions. Vanessa also built his confidence and belief, and ensured he had practise papers between lessons. We can’t recommend Vanessa enough for support with Functional Level 2 Maths, our son and we really feel her support have enable him to pass with such a high grade.

From Andrea (/5): After only 2 sessions my daughter is already showing a bit more confidence in maths and the 121 support has reaffirmed to her that she does know a lot but just needs some extra support with how she gets to the final answer. Vanessa sends materials straight after the lesson with links for the following week and it all works seamlessly. I am really impressed with the quality and detail that she goes to. Would recommend highly.

From Guillaume (/5): I am a first-year undergraduate student studying Industrial Economics which contained a financial and management accounting module. Vanessa has been able to provide great help in understanding the theory and calculations required in my examination. Vanessa is very understanding when I had issues understanding specific topics and focused on them and simplifying them to enable me to understand the methods to calculate values. Vanessa is very flexible in cases where times did not match in our calendars to ensure a maximum amount of lessons for my benefit.

She tutored me through my GCSE Maths retake, helping me focus on the areas I found hard and difficult to understand. She carefully thought of ways to explain things to me so that I could understand them. I have now achieved my maths GCSE obtaining a 4 (last year I got a 3). If you are looking for a tutor that explains maths clearly and understands your way of working then she is the tutor for you.

From Joshua (/5): Vanessa was an incredible tutor, going above and beyond the call of duty. Given my lack of financial experience I was in need of a tutor who was not only knowledgeable, but patient. Vanessa was wonderful taking me through step by step making sure that I understood everything. Additionally, she was easy to contact and organise a Skype appointment, which was a breath of fresh air. I can not recommend her highly enough as a tutor and will certainly be using her in the future!

From Ian Keith (/5): I highly recommend Skype lessons with Vanessa. Before starting I was not quite sure how they would work. I have been very pleasantly surprised as they work really well and I enjoy them (in fact I look forward to Wednesday afternoons). Vanessa follows up with exercises on an app which fits well with how I like to learn. It helps to reinforce what we have covered in the session. I need all the help I can get!
The sessions are tailored, well structured but also with the flexibility to go ‘off piste’ as and when required. As Vanessa is a native French speaker it has been great to learn useful expressions that you would not learn from a textbook.
Finally, I am not a natural linguist unfortunately and have been struggling with my spoken French. She has given me more confidence to speak as she is patient, encouraging and “très gentille”.
