Personal Description:
If you want to adopt a posh accent, I am the man for you! By 'posh', I mean the sort of accent one might have heard on the BBC in the 1930s: this is sometimes called 'extreme' Received Pronunciation. I am the son of an English Judge and was educated at Public School. I practised as a Barrister for many years and my vocal submissions have been heard in many a courtroom. The cut-glass vowels generally did the trick! I am also a Freeman and Cutler of London.
Teaching Experience:
PGCE (Secondary), UCL, 2015; Teacher of Secondary School English (Years 7 - 13), 2014 - present; Mediaevalist post-graduate researcher at UCL with responsibility for some first year undergraduate students, 1998 - 99; One-to-one teacher of Key Stage 3 literacy, 2014 - present; I also train boys in the last year of Prep School on how to negotiate their Public School interviews, 2018 - present.
Teaching Approach:
Singular! Adventurous! 'Teaching' very much in inverted commas!
