Personal Description:

I am a friendly, patient and down to earth person and a trained actress with over 10 years teaching experience from 5- 25 years old. However I find that students from 8+ years are usually more equipped to deal with one to one tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I am a trained actress from Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and so I have a lot of first hand acting experience and advice. Since graduating in 2010 I have also been developing my teaching skills and have taught drama and musical theatre for and still do teach for private drama schools in Oxfordshire. I have also previously taught Drama and English in primary and secondary schools.

Teaching Approach:

I have a very approachable manner and am a professional and a perfectionist through and through. I am also extremely hard working, organised and patient. I help a huge range of students: from those who wish to use drama to improve their confidence to students who need help with their GCSE/A Level Drama practical and theory, to students whose dream it is to audition for anything from their school production to drama school. I find that drama can help in all aspects of life by developing speaking, communication and self confidence to name but a few.

However I wasn't able to work with you, because you wouldn't agree to my terms and conditions despite me declaring from the start that payment was due prior to each class. I tried to offer you solutions and all the while remaining patient and professional throughout. I wish you the best of luck in finding a tutor who can help you.

From Bethan (5/5): Sophie has been fantastic for our daughter in more ways than one! We asked Sophie for help when our daughter was lacking in confidence and self esteem as a result of bullying. Not only has Sophie done wonders for her confidence, our daughter now believes in herself and puts herself “out there” at school for competitions etc.
Our daughter has gone from being too shy to stand up in assembly to auditioning for the school play. She did so well she was awarded with one of the leads!!! What a transformation!
We can’t thank Sophie enough and our daughter says Sophie’s acting class is the best activity she enjoys all week. Her lessons are fun and engaging each week. She has never cancelled a session and is very reliable. We will all miss her when our daughter moves on. But hopefully we can keep in touch. I can’t recommmend her enough! Thank you Sophie.

From Natasha (5/5): Sophie has been tutoring our daughter in drama for the last couple of months. She is a wonderful teacher and has helped my daughter overcome her shyness of performing in front of people. She is also teaching her new techniques and comes prepared with a whole variety of different genres. She always arrives on time and is a delight to have in the house. The drama lessons with Sophie are a highlight of my daughter's week.
