Personal Description:
I am an artist and teacher based in Staffordshire, with a studio at **Removed By Admin**Wolverhampton. My personal practice uses found family photographs to explore themes of childhood, memory, and grief through working with textiles. Recent work has been selected to be shown online by **Web Address Removed**, and on-site at The New Art Gallery Walsall, where I was also Artist in Residence between May-July 2022.

Masters by Research, Art & Design. Distinction. (2019)
PCSE Post-Compulsory Education. (2017)
Ba (Hons) Fine Art. 1st Class. (2015)
Teaching Experience:
For over seven years I have taught at a post-compulsory level, with my experience ranging from GCSE & A Level, to Level 3 Foundation Courses, and University Bachelors.
With a background in Fine Art, I have experience in many creative ways of working, including writing as well as visual approaches.
Teaching Approach:
My approach is friendly and informal, with a focus on your enjoyment of the subject. This is then scaffolded by learning the connections between this enjoyment and the wider context of the art world, considering the work of established contemporary artists as well as theoretical arguments which may enhance your approach to making.
My practical skills are varied, and we may work with a combination of drawing, digital photography, collage, watercolour painting, acrylic painting or oil painting. This will be guided by you and your interests, although I will aim to push you out of your comfort zone also.
We will discuss the idea of 'failure' often, reclaiming the word as a positive opportunity for growth and development, rather than a cynical and disheartening wrong move.
As well as visual art making, your work will be punctuated by some short reflective writing to aid your rich development. Don't let this put you off, as if you're not used to writing this should start to come more easy to you the more we work at it.
