Personal Description:

I am a published author of children's book, short stories and poetry. I enjoy historical fiction, crime dramas, celtic poetry and allegory or fantasy. I love Scottish islands and get much inspiration from the beautiful Scottish scenery. i am an avid reader and particularly enjoy novels by John Grisham, Francine Rivers and Anne Cleeves.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified adult literacy tutor and tutor literacy and German. I am part of a creative writing group. I lead creative writing workshops at creative retreats for artisans. I also offer proofreading services to aspiring writers. I am also an SQA assessor and tutor English for high school students sitting exams. I also have a postgraduate qualification in designing online courses for adult literacy learners.

Teaching Approach:

I would work with each learner according to their individual needs and requirements. I would work with the learner to ascertain their own goals and design a plan to help them attain those goals. I take a coaching approach to learning and can provide exercises that fit with the learner's goals. I offer positive feedback and critique of any creative writing seeking to encourage and develop the learner's creativity and imagination.
