Teaching Approach:
My philosophy of teaching implies that students are entitled to quality instruction in an interactive and creativity stimulating learning environment.
The constancy of change in contemporary teaching and learning environments makes us to critically examine and re-examine teaching philosophies in order to make them more communicative with young people and to facilitate optimal student learning.
I think that professionals in any field should at some point in their career pass on their knowledge and experience to young generations especially in art practice where personal contact and interaction with students is essential.
The center of my teaching philosophy, is interactive learning. One of my ultimate objectives in teaching is to facilitate learning by helping students to gain the necessary art skills, to take control of and become active participants in their own learning.
Art is in its essence inseparable from ideas which come with inspiration but also any idea has to be evaluated through verbal consultations and therefore development of the concept of a project is important part in my teaching methodology.
My teaching style combines creativity development, improving artistic skills and critical analysis. In my classes I use examples from contemporary fine art, popular culture and media (popular music video clips, video games, film) provoking discussions that challenge students’ thinking with the intent of making the class period engaging and memorable.
