Personal Description:

I work as a freelance opera singer and voiceover artist, and have a huge amount of teaching experience. My specialties are in Music, Drama, and Singing. Former students have attended Arts Ed, the Brit School, and LAMDA… I am also a qualified yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance UK, and a blogger for the Huff Post UK.

Teaching Experience:

In addition to my work as a professional singer and actress, I have a huge amount of teaching and workshop experience and am highly skilled at teaching all levels. Previously I have had students ranging in ages 4-60, although the majority of my teaching experience has been teaching young people. I do include a solid amount of technique in my weekly classes, but also have the experience of running workshops for organisations like Eastside Educational Trust. Though my background is as a classical singer, I am skilled at teaching across all musical genres. I have a huge amount of drive and passion, and endeavour to inspire people to achieve their best. I also have been an assistant MD on a number of productions I have performed in as well, and have directed and music-directed numerous shows at the stage schools I have taught at.
I have a lot of experience and success in preparing students for auditions and exams, in singing, drama, and GCSE Music. Former students have had 100% Distinction in their LAMDA exams; and 50% gained a Distinction, 50% Merit in their Musical Theatre Singing Exams, under the aegis of the University of West London. A number of students have and continue to appear in West End shows. In my work as a writer, I have written consistently for the Huff Post UK, and written a critically acclaimed show for RTÉ on women composers (Critics' Choice in the Irish Times). I have a current DBS.

Teaching Approach:

I always try to make my teaching as fun and relevant as possible to each age group, and to individual requirements and interests. I also have a holistic approach to tutoring and teaching, as each student has individual needs, and I have found that there is a huge amount I have been able to bring in terms of confidence-building, which both gets results and transforms the students' belief in themselves. My training as a yoga teacher has enabled me to bring this to an even deeper level of understanding and methodology for my students. My belief is that enthusiasm, passion and a deep understanding of people is really the key to being an effective teacher, and to bringing the best out of them.
