Information About Christine - Leeds teacher

Personal Description:

I graduated with a B.A.(Hons.) Fine Art from Leeds Arts University in 2017. My main discipline is oil painting this being was my chosen strand at the university. I also explored printing and its many processes. For many years I worked in finance but chose to change my career and five years ago I pursued my dream of working as an artist.
As a mature student I loved being with young students whilst studying. I have two adult children currently studying at university and have good knowledge of the education system in the UK.

Teaching Experience:

I was a Student Ambassador from 2014-2017 at Leeds Arts University and received the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Progression and Outreach 2017.
I have worked with the Progression team at the university assisting in teaching pupils, from different schools who visited the university. I also assisted on trips for pupils to such places as Leeds Discovery Centre, Leeds Museum and the Sculpture Park, Wakefield.
I am also comfortable with printing processes such as Linocut, Intaglio, Drypoint, Etching and especially Collagraph.
Until recently I held in a studio at Patrick Street Studios, part of East Street Arts, but am currently using my home as my studio.

Teaching Approach:

Art means different ideas to us all. It can be to tell the world how you feel, how you wish to express yourself or to explore your talents and find your true artistic direction. I am eager to share my knowledge with all that I have learned over the past 5 years, processes, practical knowledge, critic and critical theory. I have knowledge of portfolio work suitable for applying for art institutional interviews.
I regularly attend talks by painters and academics at Leeds University, Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery and the Henry Moore Institu**Contact Detail Removed**eds. I feel that visits to the many galleries are a must for students.
